José Miguel is a specialist in underground hydrology with over 20 years of experience leading water studies for mining and civil engineering projects. His work includes developing conceptual baseline models, conducting hydrochemical and isotopic analyses, and managing water-related components for environmental impact assessments and statements (EIA and EIS).

He has also conducted environmental research at potentially contaminated sites and led remediation efforts in areas affected by hydrocarbons, organochlorine compounds and metals.

José Miguel joined Ausenco in 2021, strengthening the water resources team with his project experience from Chile, Colombia, Argentina and Spain.

He holds a degree in Geology from the University of Chile, with a specialisation in groundwater hydrology from the International Groundwater Hydrology Centre Foundation (FCIHS) at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.
